More Past Lives; but a New Oprah!

Were we here before?  Are unexplained phobias a result of a trauma from a previous life?  Make the connection and those fears will disappear: real or no?  The first guest is afraid of dolls.  Afraid of pictures of dolls.  She used the word terrified. Her name is Jodie,  and she can't even let her daughter have dolls.  Jodie meets Dr. Weiss.  Will her past life regression rid her of this fear?  Jodie's afraid and we are curious.  First step, hypnosis.  Jodie sees her grandfather.  She's happy to see him, yet she's crying.  I said this before, Dr. Weiss likes to prompt.  Maybe it's my skepticism.  Maybe it's his role.  Jodie sees a car accident; she's dying and leaving her babies behind.  It feels real to her.  Jodie is prompted to look ahead and see that her babies grew up and are okay.  This is comforting to her.  In her death, she met her grandfather.  (My skepticism is wondering why her grandfather isn't reincarnated?)  Jodie admits her own skepticism.  She finds her doll fear is related to her babies seeing her dead in her past life.  It's a bit confusing.  Oprah needs Dr. Oz to chime in.   He goes a bit into physics and dimensions and doesn't clear up that much.  Oprah encourages us to not really name it but see a spiritual side of life.  I believe in the spiritual side of life - that's as far as I can go now.

Natasha went into a past life.  She doesn't believe in reincarnation but decides to do a past life regression.  She regresses to 1930, Nepal.  Her name is Manju;  she starts speaking Hindi.  She's never even heard this language before.  Sarah conducted the past life regression and actually goes to the town Natasha said she was from in this past life.  Sarah finds the oldest person in the town to help confirm Natasha's memory;  here comes Natasha, all the way to India, too,  to check it out for herself.  Now, I have been to India, and that is quite a trip, believe me.  It's long, and it's arduous.  I hope for Natasha's sake, she finds what she's looking for.  She does.  That's what makes it such a great story, of course.  It's exactly like her memory; the sketches of her memory are identical to what she finds.  Natasha finds it overwhelming.  It is amazing.  Dr. Oz has a medical explanation for this too, but he also says there can be paranormal situations.  Oprah wants us to be Horton and hear the little Whos in Whoville.  Maybe I can fall somewhere in between not believing and believing in reincarnation.  And I guess I do.  Spirit is there.  There are many things we can't understand.  Spirit can find spirit.  Just make sure you know what spirits you are dealing with, I say.

Erin is up next.  In her regressions, she is a Native American man murdered with a spear and a prostitute who is strangled to death.  Confronting these past lives allows Erin to be unafraid of corners (think spears) and touch her neck (think strangulation).  Two phobias cured in 30 minutes.   One thing I'm thinking is that humans are so interesting.  Our fears are so unusual and varied.  My friend Michelle is afraid of a bird flying into the window of her car.  Another friend is afraid a snake might bite her butt when she sits on the toilet.  Still another is afraid her pants will inexplicably fall down while meandering in the aisles of a grocery store. And those are the ones I can think of right off the top of my head.  Dr. Weiss would have his work cut out with my friends.  Oh gosh, with so many new fears in this life, how awful we have to deal with all the cumulative ones of our past lives too.  Wonder what that snake in the toilet is all about....Dr. Weiss?

Past lives and reincarnation are interesting to think about. I, too have seen things I think fall into the realm of the supernatural and remain, for me, unexplained. However, I've also seen the prompting, leading sort of behavior, which tends to make me skeptical.

There is, of course, the Old Testament story of Saul going to a witch to raise the spirit of Samuel and it appears that the witch is successful. Samuel was, in Jewish thought, in a sort of holding pen waiting for the Messiah to free them to Paradise/Heaven. Saul lost his kingship over this episode, the last in a long line of bad decisions.
